Girona FC has formalised the transfer of Portuguese central defender Mauro Furtado from Benfica, securing the 18-year-old on a five-year contract that runs until 2031. Furtado, born in Lisbon on 30 July 2008, is widely regarded as one of the standout prospects in Portuguese football.
