Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo left Sunday’s game against the Houston Astros after being struck in the helmet by a 93 mph line drive off Ketel Marte’s bat.
The incident occurred in the third inning at Daikin Park as Perdomo ran towards second base. He remained on the ground for several minutes before leaving the field unassisted.
The Diamondbacks ruled Perdomo out with a head contusion, according to a Yahoo Sports report based on an Associated Press account. He did not return to the game.
