Gaza to bury remains of 105 people killed in 2023 air strikes
A family procession is planned to carry the recovered remains to Sheikh Radwan cemetery after an operation coordinated with an Egyptian committee.

The remains of 105 people killed in Israeli air strikes on Gaza City’s Yarmouk Square neighbourhood are due to be buried on Thursday, Gaza’s General Directorate of Civil Defence said. Family members are expected to accompany the coffins to Sheikh Radwan cemetery.
The strikes hit the neighbourhood on 25 October 2023. Al Jazeera reported that at least 20 bombs levelled the seven-storey Al Taj 3 building and destroyed several other residential buildings. The reported toll and circumstances have not been independently verified in the available material.
Gaza Civil Defence said the remains were recovered in an operation coordinated with an Egyptian committee. Its operations director, Abdul al-Majdalawi, said it had been impossible to reach the bodies at the time of the attack, and alleged that heavy machinery used by civil defence teams had been deliberately targeted.
Osama Sharaf told Al Jazeera that 16 more members of his family, including his parents and siblings, were recovered on Wednesday. He said 37 relatives were killed in the attack.
Al Jazeera correspondent Ibrahim Khalili described the recovery as the fifth largest of its kind since October 2023 by the number of bodies recovered.
