Galatasaray President Rules Out Osimhen Sale Amid Arsenal Interest

Arsenal have held discussions with Galatasaray regarding the potential transfer of striker Victor Osimhen, a move that emerged during broader negotiations concerning Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. Despite the interest from the Gunners, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek is reportedly ruling out any sale of the Nigerian international, stating he will not sell the player regardless of the financial offer.
The talks were initiated during a period of active engagement between the two clubs. According to reports from The Telegraph, the topic of Osimhen’s availability was raised while representatives from both sides were in dialogue. It remains unclear whether Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta proposed the move or if Galatasaray offered the striker to the Gunners, with Simon Jones of the Daily Mail noting that while the subject was discussed, the talks have not progressed further.
Galatasaray’s stance appears firm, with Turkish media outlets providing a pessimistic outlook on the prospect of a transfer. Ibrahim Seten of 343 Digital reported that Ozbek has explicitly stated he is not selling Osimhen no matter how much money is offered. Fellow Turkish outlet Sami Yen Gundem echoed this sentiment, claiming the striker will definitely continue at Galatasaray despite the offers received.
Conversely, some European reports suggest a more optimistic view from the Arsenal camp. Sebastien Denis of Foot Mercato framed Osimhen as manager Mikel Arteta’s top priority, claiming the Gunners are convinced they can secure a deal. Denis added that while Galatasaray have not set a specific price, they are understood to want to recoup their initial investment in the player.
Osimhen has long been considered one of the best strikers available, but his profile is complicated by off-field concerns. Reports indicate the player has had a falling-out with his previous club over finances and is known for on-field arguments with coaches and teammates. However, the question of whether a deal would be worth pursuing is rendered moot if Galatasaray are truly refusing to sell at any price.
