FRANCE 24’s week in pictures captures rescue, war and displacement
A visual review highlights flood rescue operations in Nepal, reported Russian strikes on Kyiv, an alleged US missile strike in southern Iran and the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan.
FRANCE 24’s weekly picture review has brought together images from a week marked by natural disaster, armed conflict, mourning and mass movement.
In Nepal, two workers were reportedly rescued on 4 September from a debris-buried tunnel at the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project. Government ministers said the workers had been trapped for more than a week after catastrophic flooding and a mudslide.
Images from Kyiv showed heavily damaged residential buildings after Russia launched drones and ballistic missiles at the city and surrounding region on 1 September. The reported strike killed at least 12 people and wounded 21.
In southern Iran, women took part in a funeral procession for victims of an alleged US missile strike on a wedding celebration in Kuhestak on 3 September.
