Fox Sports analyst Danny Parkins has projected the Dallas Cowboys will conclude the 2026 NFL season with an 11-6 record and secure a playoff berth, a forecast that significantly exceeds the consensus expectations set by oddsmakers. Parkins, co-host of "First Things First", attributes this optimism to a strong anticipated start and substantial structural improvements on the defensive side of the ball under new coordinator Christian Parker.

The prediction positions the Cowboys well above the 9.5 win total currently set by most betting markets, where the over 9.5 wins line sits at +105 with DraftKings Sportsbook. While the team was favoured in 11 games on look-ahead lines, Parkins’ specific game-by-game analysis suggests a 5-1 start, including victories against the New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and an upset over the Baltimore Ravens.

Parkins identifies potential vulnerabilities in matchups against the Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams. However, he remains confident in the Cowboys’ ability to navigate the NFC East, predicting they will win one of their two meetings with Philadelphia. He also anticipates wins against the Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, citing quarterback Dak Prescott’s reliability over Trevor Lawrence in the latter contest.

This bullish outlook stands in stark contrast to other internal forecasts from the same network. In May, Fox Sports analyst Ben Arthur predicted a 6-11 record for Dallas, arguing that while the NFC East has become less threatening, the non-division schedule remains brutal and prone to regression.
