The MLB Division Series opened Saturday with four Game 1s, setting early leads in three of the four best-of-five matchups. The results: Chicago White Sox 3, Cleveland Guardians 0; Tampa Bay Rays 1, New York Yankees 0; Milwaukee Brewers 3, San Diego Padres 2; and Los Angeles Dodgers over Atlanta Braves.

William Contreras broke Milwaukee’s 2–2 tie with a solo home run in the seventh inning. The Brewers had levelled the game earlier through Jackson Chourio’s two-run homer.

San Diego’s Ty France hit a ball that struck a beam on Milwaukee’s retractable roof and fell for an out on the warning track. The Padres challenged the ruling, and the umpires upheld it.

Munetaka Murakami hit his first career postseason home run as Chicago beat Cleveland. For Tampa Bay, Drew Rasmussen retired 15 Yankees in a row and allowed his first hit in the eighth inning.

Kyle Tucker hit a two-run homer for Los Angeles as the Dodgers defeated Atlanta. Fox Sports reported the win but its supplied account does not give the final score.

The White Sox, Rays and Dodgers lead their series 1–0. Milwaukee has won Game 1 against San Diego.
