Florida State Seminoles linebacker Jernard Albright has officially concluded his recruitment process, a move that solidifies his status as the top-rated commit in the university’s 2027 recruiting class. The announcement was made via Instagram on Monday night, marking a significant consolidation for the Seminoles’ defensive recruiting efforts.
Albright, a four-star prospect, is ranked as the No. 142 overall player and the No. 14 safety in the 247Sports composite. Hailing from Georgia, he is also identified as the No. 17 player from the state. According to reporting from FSU Wire, there was no public indication that other institutions held a realistic chance of securing his commitment, suggesting a clear path to his decision.
The closure of Albright’s recruitment follows a rapid succession of similar moves by fellow defensive prospects. On Sunday, three-star safety Jemari Foreman announced he was remaining with the Seminoles despite a strong push from the Louisville Cardinals. This was followed on Monday by the commitment of three-star linebacker CJ Ohuabunwa.
These additions contribute to a total of seven commitments Florida State has secured in the 2027 cycle this month. The influx of talent at the linebacker position has been particularly notable, with linebackers coach Ernie Sims having recruited three players to the Seminoles: Albright, Ohuabunwa, and three-star Olrick Johnson III.
Looking ahead, the Seminoles may further bolster their class rankings with potential additions later in the week. Reports suggest Florida State could secure four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune and three-star running back Marquis Fennell, developments that could significantly impact the overall standing of the 2027 recruiting class.
