Mitchell’s 33 points and team’s offensive surge mark historic night in Indianapolis

The Indiana Fever delivered a decisive 108-88 victory over the New York Liberty on Saturday, establishing multiple franchise records in a performance that underscored their offensive dominance. The win, secured in Indianapolis, marked the team’s largest margin of victory since 2009 when trailing by at least 10 points, despite the Fever trailing by as many as 13 during the contest.

Kelsey Mitchell led the charge with 33 points, recording her fourth 30-point game of the season. This achievement ties the franchise single-season record for such performances, a mark previously held by Caitlin Clark in 2024 and Mitchell herself in 2025. Mitchell’s consistency remains unparalleled within the organisation, extending her franchise-record streak of consecutive games with double-digit points to 41.

The veteran guard’s impact extends beyond single-game outputs. Her current streak of 10 consecutive games with 20-plus points ranks as the fifth-longest in WNBA history. With this performance, Mitchell accumulated her 128th career game with 20-plus points, moving past Candace Parker for 12th-most in league history. She currently sits at 18 20-point games this season, closing in on the franchise record of 24 set last year.

The Fever’s collective scoring prowess was equally historic. The team scored 100 points for the tenth time this season, placing them just one short of tying the 2023 Las Vegas Aces for the most 100-point games in a single WNBA season. Additionally, Indiana posted a franchise-record 65 points in the second half alone.

Other key contributors also etched their names into the record books. Myisha Hines-Allen became the only player in Fever history to achieve a plus/minus rating of +20 in under 15 minutes of play, recording a +22 in just 14 minutes off the bench. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark moved past Tan White for the 15th-most field goals in franchise history, reaching 457. With 18 games remaining in the season, the Fever continue to build momentum.
