Eric Singleton Jr. highly questionable for Florida’s game against Campbell
Florida’s leading transfer wide receiver rolled his ankle in the Gators’ 66–21 win over FAU, with his availability expected to become clearer later this week.
Florida wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. is highly questionable for the Gators’ game against Campbell on 12 September after rolling his ankle during the team’s season-opening 66–21 win over FAU.
Yahoo Sports reported that Singleton was attending parts of training but could not participate. Coach Jon Sumrall said Singleton’s status, along with that of defensive lineman Emmanuel Oyebadejo, was unlikely to be resolved until the middle or later part of the week.
Singleton injured the ankle while blocking on a play that helped Vernell Brown III break free for a 49-yard touchdown catch and run. The transfer from Auburn is expected to be a significant contributor in Florida’s offence after recording 58 receptions for 534 yards and three touchdowns last season.
Oyebadejo is dealing with a similar ankle injury and also remains unavailable for full training. His status for the Campbell game has not been determined.
Offensive lineman Eagan Boyer, who missed the FAU game, is due to return to training on 8 September. Freshman wide receiver Davian Groce could miss another week after sitting out the opener, although his additional absence has not been confirmed.
