EcoFlow unveils smaller River Gen4 power stations for 2026 and 2027
The River 260 Gen4 and River 520 Gen4 use LFP batteries, with European releases scheduled from late 2026. Pricing has not been announced.
EcoFlow has announced two smaller portable power stations, the River 260 Gen4 and River 520 Gen4, with capacities of 256Wh and 512Wh respectively. The company says higher energy density allows both models to deliver their capacity in lighter, more compact designs.
The Verge reported that both units use lithium iron phosphate, or LFP, batteries, which EcoFlow describes as longer-lasting and less volatile than some alternatives. The products are positioned for camping, travel, photography and backup power.
The River 260 Gen4 has four USB ports, one AC outlet and 300W of continuous output. The River 520 Gen4 has four USB ports, two AC outlets and 500W of continuous output.
Both models include a bidirectional 140W USB-C PD3.1 port, allowing charging through a compatible USB-C wall charger or portable solar panel. They can also operate as uninterruptible power supplies, with a reported cutover time below 10 milliseconds.
EcoFlow says the River 520 Gen4 could run a standard US refrigerator for about four hours during a blackout. The River 260 Gen4 is due to launch in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by the River 520 Gen4 in the first quarter of 2027. Pricing has not been announced.
