Drew Lock set to start as FOX Sports backs Cardinals against Seahawks
Seattle will be without Sam Darnold when Arizona hosts the Seahawks, with FOX Sports tipping the Cardinals to cover the 3.5-point spread.
The Arizona Cardinals are scheduled to host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in an NFL Week 2 match, with Seattle turning to Drew Lock after quarterback Sam Darnold exited the season opener and was reported unavailable for the fixture.
Seattle opened the season with a 13–10 win over New England. FOX Sports said the Seahawks’ defence intercepted Drake Maye three times, after allowing an NFL-low 17.2 points per game last season.
Lock completed 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown in relief in Week 1, according to FOX Sports. The outlet noted that New England had not prepared to face him, while Arizona has had a full week to build its defensive approach around the replacement starter.
Arizona enters the game after reportedly beating the Los Angeles Chargers as a 9.5-point underdog. Its defence held Los Angeles to 14 points, 209 passing yards and 3.9 yards per carry, while Jacoby Brissett threw for 277 yards and a touchdown.
FOX Sports described Arizona as having a chance to start 2–0 and selected the Cardinals to cover the 3.5-point spread. The outlet said the pick was based on the quarterback change and Arizona’s improved defensive display, while noting that the assessment could reflect an overreaction to one game.
The odds cited by FOX Sports were from FanDuel Sportsbook as at 20 September and may change. FOX Sports also disclosed that it may receive compensation from betting partners.
