Deebo Samuel’s return gives 49ers a timely boost
Two touchdowns against Denver have strengthened Samuel’s comeback, as San Francisco prepares to meet Seattle for the NFC West lead.

Deebo Samuel scored twice and recorded 70 scrimmage yards in San Francisco’s win over Denver, helping the 49ers maintain an unbeaten start. Fox Sports reports that the receiver returned to the club on a one-year, $4.1 million deal signed in August.
The performance comes as San Francisco manages injuries among its receiving group, with Ricky Pearsall, Christian Kirk and DeMarcus Robinson listed on injured reserve in the report. Samuel has also taken on kick-return duties and recorded 490 combined yards through four games, ranked 10th in the league.
The 49ers are set to face Seattle, reported at 3-1, in a game for the NFC West lead. Samuel has 1,092 scrimmage yards and eight total touchdowns in 10 career games against the Seahawks, including playoffs, according to Fox Sports.
Teammate Trent Williams said Samuel’s offseason work and the experience of being doubted had helped fuel his form. That is Williams’ assessment of the comeback; the report also attributes a positive outlook to Samuel’s private receiver coach, Brandon White.
