Council Rock South continued its strong start to the season with a narrow 13-10 victory over Perkiomen Valley in a Week 2 high school football match at Walt Snyder Stadium in Newtown. The contest was decided by the performance of senior Brody Walker, who scored two touchdowns for the Golden Hawks to secure the win.
Walker’s impact was most evident in a 79-yard return of a blocked field goal, which proved decisive in the low-scoring affair. The result extends Council Rock South’s winning streak to two games, following a dominant 42-0 opening victory over Hatboro-Horsham.
The Golden Hawks enter this campaign with significant momentum, having concluded the 2025 season with a 10-2 record and a SOL Continental Conference title. In their opening match of the current season, six different players scored touchdowns while the defence limited the Hatters to fewer than 80 yards of total offence.
Perkiomen Valley, by contrast, is seeking to rebound from a difficult start. The team, which finished the previous season with a 6-5 record, suffered a 27-7 defeat to Springfield-Delco in its opening game. The loss highlighted early-season challenges for the squad as it looks to stabilise its performance.
Both teams return to action on 10 September at 7 p.m. Council Rock South will host Pennridge, while Perkiomen Valley travels to face Downingtown East.
