Colts evaluate veteran wide receivers and free agents in Saturday workouts
The Indianapolis Colts held training camp sessions on Saturday to assess a group of free agent players, including three veteran wide receivers and two defensive backs.
The Indianapolis Colts conducted workouts on Saturday for a selection of free agent players as part of their ongoing evaluation process ahead of the upcoming season. The session included quarterback Mark Gronowski, cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau, and wide receivers Josh Reynolds, Tre’Quan Smith, and Equanimeous St. Brown.
The wide receiver group represents significant NFL experience, with all three players having established careers across multiple franchises. Reynolds, a former fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2017, has also played for the Tennessee Titans, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets. Over 121 career games, he has recorded 244 receptions for 3,228 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Tre’Quan Smith, selected in the third round by the New Orleans Saints in 2018, brings experience from stints with the Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions. He has accumulated 131 receptions for 1,764 yards and 18 touchdowns in 67 career games. Equanimeous St. Brown, a sixth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2018, has previously played for the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, and San Francisco 49ers, logging 63 receptions for 928 yards and two touchdowns in 62 career games.
On the other side of the ball, the Colts assessed Gronowski and Guilbeau, both of whom have recently navigated the waiver wire. Gronowski, a 6-foot-2, 226-pound quarterback, was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted rookie free agent but was waived in early August. A two-time FCS National Champion and the 2026 Offensive MVP of the East-West Shrine game, he started 13 games for the Iowa Hawkeyes last season, completing 166 of 262 pass attempts for 1,741 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Guilbeau, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound cornerback, was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. He was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list before being waived. During his senior season with the Texas Longhorns, he made 12 starts, recording 40 tackles, a sack, an interception, and three passes defensed.
