Clemson secures third defensive end in 2027 recruiting class
The three-star prospect joins Santana Harvey and Desmond Malpress, bringing the Tigers’ total verbal commitments to 21.

Clemson football has added another significant piece to its 2027 recruiting class, securing the verbal commitment of three-star edge rusher JiQuan Rogers. The Ramsay, Alabama, standout announced his decision on Tuesday, ending a recruitment process that had drawn interest from multiple Power Four programs.
Rogers, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound defender, selected Clemson over a field that included Florida, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Florida State, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and NC State. His pledge marks the third defensive end addition to the class, joining commitments from Santana Harvey and Desmond Malpress.
The commitment brings Clemson’s total verbal pledges for the 2027 cohort to 21. The class has seen a surge in activity over the last fortnight, climbing national rankings as the programme continues to stack commitments at a rapid pace.
Rogers’ recruitment gained momentum in April when Clemson extended its first Power Four offer. Since then, his stock rose as additional schools entered the mix. As a junior, Rogers recorded 36 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and seven sacks, while also returning a fumble for a touchdown.
Although Rogers had planned to take additional official visits before finalising his decision, a recent visit to Clemson led him to shut down his recruitment process. The announcement coincides with broader coverage of the programme, including social media posts referencing head coach Dabo Swinney.
