Chiefs monitor Mansoor Delane shoulder injury ahead of Colts game

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid says the team will continue assessing rookie defensive back Mansoor Delane’s shoulder injury after the 31–10 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Delane left the game after recording his first career interception on Kansas City’s opening drive. Reid provided no diagnosis or recovery timetable, saying the Chiefs would monitor the injury and “see where that goes from here”.

Delane is reportedly expected to miss minimal time, according to a 15 September post attributed to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Chiefs have not confirmed the expected absence or indicated when the defender will return.

The No. 6 selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, Delane is expected to play a significant role in defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s reshaped secondary.

Kansas City faces the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. Delane’s availability for that game has not been reported.
