The Kansas City Chiefs have secured their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future, with Patrick Mahomes signing a contract extension valued at $504.75 million. The deal, announced on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, extends Mahomes’ tenure with the team through the 2033 season, effectively tying him to the organisation for the next seven years.
Equity Sports, Mahomes’ representation agency, confirmed the agreement via X, describing the package as “the largest contract in NFL history… yet again.” The agency’s post highlighted the “historic” and “game-changing” nature of the deal, noting that it was negotiated by Equity Sports CEO Chris Cabott. The announcement was subsequently confirmed by ESPN, which reported the specific extension of the contract timeline.
The signing was a family affair, with Mahomes supported by his wife, Brittany, and their three children: daughter Sterling Skye, aged five; son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III, aged three; and daughter Golden Raye, aged 16 months. The family was photographed wearing the team’s signature red as Mahomes finalised the paperwork. Mahomes, 30, who has been with the Chiefs since 2017, shared the footage and accompanying photos on Instagram.
