Chelsea sets €140 million valuation on Enzo Fernandez as Real Madrid face complex transfer hurdle
Chelsea’s firm stance on transfer fees complicates Real Madrid’s summer rebuild, which also includes targeting centre-backs like Ibrahima Konate.

Chelsea has placed a €140 million price tag on midfielder Enzo Fernandez, significantly complicating Real Madrid’s pursuit of the Argentine international. The Spanish club, which is seeking to strengthen its midfield, may need to include players in the deal to meet Chelsea’s valuation.
Real Madrid is also targeting centre-backs, with Ibrahima Konate reportedly close to agreeing terms for a free transfer. The club is expected to sign at least two centre-backs ahead of the presidential election, accelerating its transfer plans for the summer.
A report from the Daily Mail suggests Chelsea are not keen on selling their star midfielder. The €140 million figure, derived from a £120 million valuation, represents the upper end of the ask. The actual deal value might be slightly lower, but it remains significant enough to potentially leave Real Madrid out of contention.
Real Madrid is open to adding players to sweeten the Enzo deal. Chelsea was previously interested in Dean Huijsen prior to his move to Real Madrid. Huijsen fits into Xabi Alonso’s plans, as admitted by the player himself. It has not been mentioned whether Los Blancos are interested in offering Huijsen as part of the deal.
For now, the ball is firmly in Real Madrid’s court. Chelsea is in no rush to offload the Argentine international, who is keen on finalising his future before the start of the World Cup.
