The outlet cited tiebreakers, remaining opponents and team form in its choices. It described the Padres’ projected fifth seed as a difficult call and said several races remained close.
CBS Sports expects the Rays to emerge from the American League East contest and Milwaukee to advance through the National League. Its projected World Series winner is the Brewers, a title that would be the franchise’s first.
The outlet noted its predictions could change based on games and injuries. It also outlined a three-game Wild Card Series hosted by the higher seed, followed by best-of-five Division Series match-ups with no reseeding.
