Georgia offensive lineman Drew Bobo is promoting Cracker Barrel’s petition to recognise pancake blocks as an official football statistic, under a joking campaign title: “VP, Pancake Communications”.
Bobo announced the weekend role on social media and urged followers to sign the petition. The campaign uses “pancake block” for a block that sends a defender to the ground.
Cracker Barrel’s proposed definition requires the block to be legal, occur during a live play and cause the defender to fall. The restaurant says pancake blocks are not currently included in official football box scores.
The petition is tied to National Pancake Day on 26 September. Cracker Barrel is advertising a $5 all-you-can-eat pancake offer for dine-in customers that day, subject to conditions and exclusions.
