The injury occurred when Vokolek collided with Indianapolis Colts linebacker Segun Olubi while blocking on a kickoff return. He was stretchered off the field at the time, but the long-term implications of the trauma required extensive medical evaluation. Vokolek stated he is following the advice of doctors and neurologists after numerous consultations over the past few months to protect his health.
