The Carabao Cup 2026/27 competition has reached its second round, with the 11 Premier League clubs not currently involved in European commitments entering the draw. According to Sky Sports, all ties are scheduled to be broadcast live, with kick-offs generally set for 7.45pm BST. The remaining nine Premier League sides, including Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool, will join the competition in the third round.
The schedule features several high-profile matchups, beginning with an all-Premier League clash between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United on Tuesday. The fixture offers a chance for Forest to respond to a late league defeat at the City Ground just three days prior. Manager Oliver Glasner’s side concluded their pre-season with a victory against Brest on 16 August, but the focus now shifts to domestic cup competition.
Newcastle United host West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday, aiming to secure a first win under manager Matthias Jaissle. Tottenham Hotspur also feature on Wednesday, looking to recover from a 3-0 defeat to Brentford when they face Charlton Athletic at home. Charlton are described as early Championship pace-setters in the upcoming fixture.
David Moyes will make his first return to Deepdale since leaving Preston North End in 2002 when he visits with Everton. The match is part of a double header on Thursday that also sees Chelsea host Luton Town and Fulham take on AFC Wimbledon. These fixtures mark the first competitive appearances for several of these clubs in the new season.
