Brewers secure playoff place with 20-0 rout of Reds

The Milwaukee Brewers secured at least a National League wild-card place with a 20-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night, according to Yahoo Sports.
Garrett Mitchell hit Milwaukee’s first grand slam of the season, according to the report, as the Brewers produced four home runs. William Contreras, Bryce Turang and Jake Bauers also homered.
Milwaukee improved to 92-56 and leads the NL Central by 10 games over the Chicago Cubs. Its magic number to clinch the division is four, meaning the Brewers have secured a postseason place but not yet the division title.
Dustin May and Garrett Stallings combined for a two-hitter. May pitched six innings, allowing both Cincinnati hits to rookie Sal Stewart, while Stallings recorded the final nine outs for his first save.
May was making his seventh start for Milwaukee after being acquired from St Louis at the trade deadline. The Brewers’ 23 hits marked a season high.
