The outcome hinged on a sequence in the tenth inning where Brewers outfielder Luis Lara made a leaping catch at the wall to deny Kody Clemens a run-scoring hit, followed immediately by Jake Bauers singling home Brice Turang in the bottom half of the frame.
Bauers’ offensive presence was central to the Brewers’ strategy throughout the game. In addition to the winning run, he hit a home run in the fifth inning. Jackson Chourio also contributed significantly with a home run of his own, helping Milwaukee maintain pressure on the Twins’ pitching staff.
Minnesota responded with resilience, tying the game at 3-3 in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Kody Clemens. The shot came shortly after Josh Bell drew a walk off Milwaukee pitcher Jacob Misiorowski. The pitching duel extended beyond Misiorowski’s six innings, with Minnesota’s Connor Prielipp throwing five innings, allowing three runs, five hits, and two walks while striking out seven. Both teams squandered scoring opportunities in the middle innings, with Milwaukee leaving runners on base in the sixth, seventh, and ninth, and Minnesota failing to capitalize with bases loaded in the seventh and eighth.
Looking ahead, the Brewers will begin a West Coast trip at San Diego on Monday, with Logan Henderson (8-1, 2.70 ERA) set to start against Casey Mize (4-7, 3.40 ERA).
