League-wide injury tracker reveals significant roster disruptions as teams finalise 53-man squads

NFL teams are currently navigating a challenging period of injury management as they prepare for the upcoming season, with training camps serving as a critical testing ground for roster construction. The league’s 32 teams are under close monitoring as they attempt to balance optimism with the reality of physical attrition, a process that often determines the viability of offseason acquisitions and draft selections.

Significant setbacks have already impacted several high-profile franchises. Laremy Tunsil has suffered a torn triceps and is expected to miss an indefinite amount of time, likely requiring surgery. This development poses a substantial challenge for the Dolphins, who must now evaluate their offensive line stability. Similarly, the 49ers have confirmed that receiver Pearsall will undergo season-ending surgery for a PCL injury, a recurring issue that has sidelined him since last season.

Defensive units have also seen their depth tested. The Saints were dealt a blow when defensive lineman Bresee suffered a season-ending ACL tear, removing a former first-round pick from the rotation. In Atlanta, edge rusher Walker sustained a torn ACL during a non-padded practice, while the Panthers placed Scourton on injured reserve following a torn ACL on the first day of camp. These injuries highlight the physical toll of the pre-season period on key defensive contributors.

Rookie and second-year players have not been immune to the injury bug. The Jets reported that first-round pick Kenyon Sadiq is dealing with a setback following offseason hernia surgery, though head coach Aaron Glenn does not expect him to miss the season opener. Meanwhile, the Falcons face uncertainty at quarterback, with Michael Penix still not cleared for full team activities after a torn ACL in the previous season, and Tua Tagovailoa working through an injury.

Other notable updates include Luther Burden III exiting practice with a groin injury and Zay Flowers being listed as day-to-day with a quad contusion. The Bears’ Bryant suffered a hyperextended knee and small fracture, while the Lions’ McNeill left practice with a neck injury. As the league moves through July and August, these developments will force coaches to make difficult decisions regarding roster spots and player availability.
