Bowen double lifts West Ham top of Championship

West Ham United moved top of the Championship on goal difference after defeating Bolton Wanderers 3–2 at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Tuesday night, according to Sky Sports.

Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring after 13 minutes, but Bolton responded through Ethan Erhahon before Ruben Rodrigues converted a 27th-minute penalty to put the hosts ahead.

West Ham restored parity four minutes later when Konstantinos Mavropanos headed in from an Arne Engels free-kick. The visitors then controlled more of the second half as Bolton’s attacking threat declined.

Bowen scored the decisive goal 13 minutes from full time, securing West Ham’s first win at the venue, a record reported by Sky Sports. The result also gave the club, relegated from the Premier League last season, a first win in Bolton for 31 years.

Bolton were seeking their first second-tier victory since the opening day of the campaign and have now suffered four consecutive defeats.
