Bose returns to wired earbuds with $99 noise-cancelling model
The USB-C earbuds are Bose’s first wired model since 2015. Pre-orders are open, though the company’s release and online store list different expected shipping dates.
Bose has opened pre-orders for its first wired earbuds since discontinuing its previous model in 2015. The Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds cost $99 and connect via USB-C.
The earbuds offer Quiet and Aware modes, which reduce surrounding noise or boost it, respectively. Users can cycle through the modes or switch off active noise cancellation using a button on the inline remote.
The cable’s remote also includes a microphone for calls. Bose says the earbuds support lossless audio with minimal latency and are compatible with smartphones and laptops with USB-C.
Available colours are black, white smoke and limited-edition dewdrop mint. The earbuds have an IPX4 water-resistance rating and come with a zippered case, three sizes of silicone eartips and two sizes of stability wings.
Bose’s release says shipping is expected to begin on 15 October, while its online store lists 13 October.
