Bills’ unbeaten start fuels talk of NFL’s first 17-0 season

The Buffalo Bills have opened the 2026 NFL season with two wins, prompting Yahoo Sports to examine whether they could become the first team to complete a 17-0 campaign.
No NFL team has achieved that record. The 2007 New England Patriots finished 16-0 in the regular season, the closest previous mark.
Yahoo Sports describes Buffalo’s schedule as a second-place schedule and notes a betting win total of 12.5. The Bills’ potential tests include home games against the Ravens, Chiefs and Bears, as well as road matches against the Rams, Raiders, Broncos, Dolphins and Jets.
The Bills have scored 36 points against Houston and 40 in their other game, averaging 38.5 points per game. Their defence has conceded 31 points in each contest, a vulnerability that could complicate any attempt to maintain a perfect record.
Quarterback Josh Allen has nine total touchdowns across the opening two games. Yahoo Sports compares that start with Tom Brady’s 50 touchdown passes during New England’s 16-0 regular season, while projecting that Allen’s current pace could amount to 68 total touchdowns.
A 17-0 finish remains speculative. Buffalo is 2-0, with 15 games still to play and several schedule challenges ahead.
