Bears bolster secondary with Woods signing as Flowers moves to IR

The Chicago Bears have signed defensive back Xavier Woods, the team announced on Friday. The move sees the 31-year-old join the squad after spending the previous season with the Tennessee Titans. In a corresponding roster adjustment, the Bears placed defensive back Dallis Flowers on injured reserve.

Woods brings significant experience to the Bears' defensive backfield. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and spent four seasons with the team. During his time with the Titans, Woods recorded 39 tackles, two interceptions, and three passes defensed across 11 games. He played 526 defensive snaps, starting 10 of those contests.
