New Jersey champion Bayonne Little League is set to face New York champion PYA Little League of Port Washington in the winner’s bracket of the 2026 Little League Baseball Metro Region Tournament. The match is scheduled for Monday, 10 August at 1 p.m. ET at the venue in Bristol, Connecticut.
Bayonne arrived at this stage after securing an 8-2 victory over Connecticut champion Darien Little League. In contrast, Port Washington opened regional play with a decisive 18-0 win over Rhode Island champion Lincoln Little League. The outcome of this contest will determine which team proceeds directly to the Metro Region championship.
A victory for either side moves them one win closer to the Little League Baseball World Series 2026 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The tournament structure dictates that only one team from the Metro Region, which includes champions from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, will advance to the national stage.
The loser of the Monday match will not be eliminated from contention immediately. Instead, they will face Connecticut champion Darien Little League in an elimination game on Wednesday, 12 August. The winner of the championship game on Friday, 14 August will secure the region’s sole spot in the World Series.
