Bayern Munich’s Uli Hoeness sends blunt message to Barcelona on Harry Kane links – “They have no money”
Honorary president Uli Hoeness asserts striker will remain at Allianz Arena

Uli Hoeness, honorary president of Bayern Munich, has firmly dismissed transfer speculation linking Harry Kane with a move to Barcelona. Speaking following the club’s DFB Pokal victory over VfB Stuttgart at the Olympiastadion, Hoeness asserted that the Catalan side lacks the financial capacity to sign the English striker, stating that “Barcelona have no money anyway.”

The executive characterised Bayern Munich as a “buying club not a selling club” in the context of the Kane transfer rumour. He assured supporters that the Englishman will remain at the Allianz Arena for the upcoming season, effectively closing the door on speculation regarding a departure for the forward.

Hoeness’s comments come amidst broader market activity, with Barcelona reportedly allocating €100 million to replace Robert Lewandowski, who recently played his final match for the club against Valencia. While reports suggest the Catalans are keeping tabs on Chelsea’s Joao Pedro and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez as alternative targets, Hoeness’s remarks highlight the economic constraints facing the Spanish club.

The executive also addressed unrelated rumours regarding Jose Mourinho’s interest in Michael Olise. Dismissing the speculation, Hoeness joked that Real Madrid would not secure the player’s signature, even if Mourinho kept “five eyes” on the Frenchman during the recent final.

The club now faces the task of replacing Lewandowski, described as a “Polish goal machine,” with Kane emerging as a key figure in their forward line. Despite the high market value of potential targets such as Kane, Pedro, and Alvarez, Bayern Munich has made its position clear regarding the retention of its primary attacking assets.
