Arsenal’s Lewis-Skelly linked with Chelsea and Manchester United amid transfer speculation

Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has become the subject of transfer speculation, with reports indicating interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United regarding his long-term future. The 19-year-old’s recent performances in pre-season, where he has started the last two friendlies, have reignited debate over his status at the club following a difficult campaign last season.
While Arsenal maintain they have not actively offered the player to any suitors, sources have confirmed that Lewis-Skelly was offered to Manchester United in January. The Red Devils face their own squad considerations, with new signing Patrick Dorgu operating in advanced roles under manager Michael Carrick and Luke Shaw’s fitness record described as patchy. However, United’s recent acquisition of Jorrel Hato and Pep Chavarria at left-back suggests they are not in the market for a third defender, despite Lewis-Skelly’s versatility.
Chelsea, now under the tenure of new manager Xabi Alonso, are also reportedly monitoring the situation. The Blues are not currently in European competition, reducing the fixture load and the necessity for squad depth compared to previous seasons. With six central midfielders already at the club, a move for Lewis-Skelly appears unlikely without substantial sales, such as the potential departure of Enzo Fernandez.

Previously, selling an academy graduate provided an immediate boost to the club’s accounts, a fact Lewis-Skelly highlighted with a "pure profit" caption on social media. Under the new regulations, any sale value is spread evenly over the length of the player’s contract, altering the immediate financial impact for Arsenal.
Arsenal are actively managing their squad to balance the books, having already sold Christian Norgaard and Leandro Trossard. Club sources indicated in April that they would seek a minimum combined £100m for Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.
