Arsenal overturn Chelsea lead to maintain perfect Premier League start
Arsenal defeated Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium after conceding inside the opening two minutes of the London derby.
Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, preserving a perfect three-match start to the Premier League season.
Chelsea took the lead after 77 seconds through Morgan Rogers, but Kai Havertz equalised against his former club in the first half.
Martin Odegaard scored Arsenal’s winner in the 50th minute, completing the comeback and giving Mikel Arteta’s side victory in the clubs’ latest London derby.
The result ended Chelsea’s three-game winning run in all competitions since Xabi Alonso took charge during the close season. Chelsea are seeking to end a title drought dating back to 2017.
Arsenal also conceded their first goal of the season. Al Jazeera reported that the result left Arsenal second behind Manchester City on goals scored, after three league matches.
