Apple TV+ sets January 2027 premiere for Neuromancer adaptation
The streaming giant unveiled the first teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, confirming a 10-episode run starring Callum Turner and Briana Middleton.

Apple TV+ has confirmed the premiere date for its highly anticipated adaptation of William Gibson’s 1984 cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer. The series is scheduled to debut on 22 January 2027, with the first two episodes releasing simultaneously on that date. The remaining eight episodes will follow a weekly release schedule, concluding on 19 March 2027.
The announcement was made during the San Diego Comic-Con, where the platform unveiled the first official teaser trailer for the project. The adaptation stars Callum Turner as Case, described as a damaged, top-rung super-hacker, and Briana Middleton as Molly, a razor-girl assassin. The supporting cast includes Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard, and Clémence Poésy.
According to the official synopsis, the narrative follows Case and Molly as they are thrust into a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime. The pair executes a heist against a corporate dynasty that holds untold secrets. The series will comprise 10 episodes in total, marking a significant entry into the streaming platform’s science fiction portfolio.
Original author William Gibson serves as an executive producer on the series. Gibson shared the teaser on Bluesky, expressing satisfaction with the production’s direction. In his post, he noted that his primary desire for an adaptation was to see it handled with care, adding that those who do not recognise this effort may not understand his expectations.
The release comes as Apple TV+ continues to expand its library of genre-defining content. Industry observers have noted the platform’s recent success with science fiction programming, positioning Neuromancer as a key component of its upcoming slate. The series aims to translate Gibson’s influential novel for a contemporary audience while maintaining the thematic core of the original work.
