Apple has introduced Pass Designer beta, a tool for creating and editing passes for Apple Wallet. Developers can begin with Apple templates or their own designs, import images and adjust fields and colours.

The tool updates previews in real time for iPhone and Apple Watch. Apple says the preview uses the same rendering as iOS and watchOS, so it matches how a pass will appear on customers’ devices.

Pass Designer validates pass definitions as they are edited, flagging missing required values and unexpected definitions. It supports semantic tags for boarding passes and event tickets, adding structured details such as dates, venue locations and flight information.

Apple says this data can support features including Siri Suggestions, Calendar integration and Maps directions. The tool can also generate a backward-compatible pass structure from semantic data for systems that do not support the tags.

The beta requires macOS 27 or later. Downloading it requires an Apple Account and, if prompted, free registration and acceptance of the Apple Developer Agreement.
