Apple has unveiled its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, new AirPods models, Watch Series 12, Watch Ultra 4 and iOS 27. The event was the company’s first major iPhone launch since John Ternus succeeded Tim Cook as chief executive on 1 September.

The passport-shaped iPhone Duo has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen, according to Apple. It starts at $1,999 and is due to launch on 23 October. Apple said the device will support two apps side by side and Apple Pencil later this year.

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the Pro Max starts at $1,299 and includes a 2TB storage option. The models feature upgraded cameras, A20 chips, a redesigned Dynamic Island and expanded battery claims. They are scheduled to launch on 18 September.

Apple also announced AirPods 5, bringing active noise cancellation to its cheapest AirPods model, as well as a higher-priced version with stem-based volume controls. The company said both models would be available from 18 September.

Watch Series 12 starts at $399 and Watch Ultra 4 at $799. Apple said the watches add health and audio-detection features, including Siri Recap, which uses built-in microphones to record and transcribe daily conversations. The source material does not independently verify Apple’s performance, health or noise-reduction claims, and does not address privacy or consent issues related to the feature.

The Verge reported that iOS 27 will include an English-language beta of a more conversational Siri, alongside new interface and notification controls. Apple said the assistant will be able to take action across apps.
