Apple’s redesigned Health app is now available in the iOS 27.2 developer beta, expanding the software beyond its previous role as a repository for data collected by Apple Watch and other Bluetooth-enabled fitness devices.

The beta introduces an Insights tab that summarises daily metrics and trends across sleep, fitness and readiness. Engadget reports that readiness features are limited to Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4.

A new Longevity tab includes Health Age, which uses Apple Watch data to estimate how a user’s body functions relative to their chronological age. The app also adds movement assessments covering flexibility, strength and balance. Health Age is a wellness estimate, not a medical diagnosis or verified measure of biological age.

Apple says written and video commentary from health experts will appear dynamically in response to users’ data. Personalised Insights summaries, recommendations and the ability to order laboratory tests through Quest are reportedly planned for future beta releases.

The redesign brings Apple’s health software closer to products from Oura, Whoop and Google, which turn wearable data into scores, summaries and recommendations. Apple has indicated a public release later in 2026 but has not set a firm date, and features may change before the final version.
