Analysts Upgrade Micron Ahead of Q3 Earnings as AI Demand Sustains Rally
With revenue surging 196 per cent in the second quarter and a $1.3 trillion market valuation, Micron’s fundamentals underpin analyst optimism despite near-term volatility ahead of June 24 results.

Wall Street analysts are raising their price targets for Micron Technology ahead of the company’s third-quarter earnings report scheduled for June 24. Needham has increased its target to $1,550, maintaining a Buy rating, while Deutsche Bank has lifted its target to $1,000, citing robust pricing tailwinds and artificial intelligence-driven demand for dynamic random-access memory. The upgrades reflect a consensus view that the semiconductor memory market remains structurally tight, with limited capacity additions supporting higher margins.
Micron’s stock has appreciated nearly 800 per cent over the past 52 weeks, a rally driven by fundamental performance rather than market speculation. In the second quarter of fiscal 2026, the company reported a 196 per cent year-on-year revenue surge to $23.9 billion, supported by operating cash flow of $11.9 billion. The Boise-headquartered manufacturer, which commands a market valuation of approximately $1.3 trillion, has seen its shares rise 292 per cent in the last six months alone, despite recent selling pressure ahead of the earnings announcement.
To address significant supply-demand mismatches, Micron has outlined a capital expenditure plan exceeding $25 billion for fiscal 2026. The company expects further meaningful increases in spending for 2027 to support investments in high-bandwidth memory and DRAM production. This aggressive investment strategy is complemented by planned increases in research and development, aimed at sustaining technological leadership in a sector where structural AI-backed tailwinds continue to reshape demand dynamics.
On the innovation front, Micron has commenced manufacturing of 1α (1-alpha) DRAM, described as the most advanced memory technology ever produced in the United States and the most advanced DDR4 technology available. The company’s portfolio includes 60,000 patents, underscoring its focus on advanced node development. With a cash buffer of $20.2 billion at the end of the second quarter and adjusted free cash flow of $6.9 billion, Micron retains substantial financial flexibility for potential dividend growth and share repurchases.
Valuation metrics suggest the stock remains attractively priced relative to its growth trajectory. Micron trades at a forward price-earnings ratio of 18, with a price-earnings-to-growth ratio of less than 1. A consensus of 41 analysts covering the stock assigns a Strong Buy rating, with a mean price target of $1,006.34. However, the most bullish target stands at $1,750, implying significant upside potential from current levels as investors anticipate another strong earnings beat driven by sustained pricing power and capacity constraints.
