Analog Devices prepares for Q3 FY2026 earnings amid AI-driven semiconductor surge

Analog Devices is scheduled to release its third-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings before the market opens on Wednesday, August 19, as the company navigates a semiconductor landscape reshaped by artificial intelligence and heavy data centre investment. The release follows a robust second quarter where the firm reported record demand and disciplined execution, with revenue rising 37.2% year-on-year to $3.62 billion and adjusted earnings per share increasing 67% to $3.09.
Management has issued guidance for the upcoming quarter, projecting revenue of $3.9 billion, plus or minus $100 million, and adjusted EPS of $3.30, plus or minus $0.15. These figures align with Wall Street expectations, where analysts anticipate Q3 FY2026 EPS to rise 62.4% year-on-year to $3.33. For the full fiscal year 2026, EPS is projected to grow 59.4% to $12.42, with a further increase of 17.8% to $14.63 in FY2027.
The second-quarter performance was driven by broad-based demand across key sectors. Industrial applications led the way, accounting for 50% of Q2 revenue and rising 56% year-on-year, fueled by strength in aerospace, defence, and automated test equipment. Communications revenue surged 79%, with data centre revenue within that segment jumping over 90% year-on-year due to robust demand for optical and power solutions. Automotive and consumer segments also contributed to growth, rising 2% and 23% respectively.
Profitability metrics expanded significantly during the quarter. Adjusted gross margin grew to 73%, an increase of 360 basis points year-on-year, while operating margin reached 49%, up 780 basis points. The company ended the quarter with $3.4 billion in cash and short-term investments and a net leverage ratio of 0.8. CEO and Chair Vincent Roche highlighted investments in supply chain resilience and AI initiatives, noting that the company’s hybrid manufacturing strategy has provided greater operational flexibility.
Analysts maintain a positive outlook on the stock, which has climbed 75.45% over the past 52 weeks. The broader analyst community holds an overall "Strong Buy" rating, with an average price target of $452.96 implying 15.7% upside. Wells Fargo analyst Joseph Quatrochi reiterated an "Overweight" rating with a price target of $515, while KeyBanc analyst John Vinh raised his target to $525 from $500. The stock currently trades at a premium valuation of 30.34 times forward adjusted price-to-earnings, supported by a dividend that has risen for 22 consecutive years.
