Amy Hunt takes third in Brussels with season’s-best 200m run
Hunt clocked 22.16 seconds in the Diamond League final, finishing behind Julien Alfred and Kayla White.
Amy Hunt continued her strong late-season form with a season’s-best 22.16 seconds for third in the women’s 200m at the Diamond League final in Brussels.
Julien Alfred won in 21.79 seconds, with Kayla White second in 22.00. Hunt’s time was 0.08 seconds outside her lifetime best and improved on her fifth-place finish in last year’s final and sixth place in 2024.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Hunt said she was especially pleased with her bend but felt the effects of the long season over the final 20 metres.
Hunt is scheduled to contest the 100m in Brussels and plans to compete in both sprint events at the Ultimate Championships in Budapest.
Australian 20-year-old Cameron Myers won the men’s 1500m, while Oblique Seville took the 100m and Emmanuel Wanyonyi won the 800m. Emmanouil Karalis won the pole vault with a 6.12m clearance after Armand Duplantis withdrew with leg tightness.
