AMC-themed meme coin trader reports US$2.03 million unrealised gain
A trader bought MEME tokens for US$2,972 as a dispute over Robinhood’s tokenised AMC stock fuelled online attention, but the coin later fell sharply.

A crypto trader recorded a reported unrealised gain of about US$2.03 million on an AMC-themed meme coin launched amid a dispute between Robinhood Markets and AMC Entertainment Holdings.
Lookonchain said the trader bought 6.11 million MEME tokens for US$2,972 and later sold 750,000 for US$85,300. The trader was reported to be holding 15.36 million MEME with an unrealised gain of US$2.03 million as at 4 September.
MEME rose from US$0.00008571 to US$0.1509 within hours before falling to US$0.03136. The reported gain therefore remained exposed to further price movements and did not represent a realised profit.
The coin’s AMC branding referred to the dispute over Robinhood’s tokenised AMC stock. AMC chief executive Adam Aron criticised Robinhood on 3 September and threatened legal action, while Robinhood chief legal officer Dan Gallagher reportedly said the company would continue offering the token.
The transaction figures were provided by Lookonchain through on-chain analysis and were not independently verified in the supplied material. The source package also does not explain how the trader’s holdings increased from the 6.11 million tokens initially reported as purchased to 15.36 million.
