Carlos Alcaraz has reached the US Open quarter-finals after defeating American 20th seed Tommy Paul in straight sets at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The Spaniard won 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in a match Al Jazeera described as a high-intensity contest, extending his Grand Slam match-winning streak to 18.
Alcaraz, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, produced an aggressive performance despite pressure from Paul and a vocal home crowd. The result keeps his campaign for back-to-back US Open titles on course.
