Al-Rayyan reportedly offer to free agent Jadon Sancho
French outlet Foot Mercato reports the Lions have made a proposal to the 26-year-old, who is currently without a club following his departure from Old Trafford in early July.
Qatari club Al-Rayyan has reportedly made an offer to former Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho, according to a report by French outlet Foot Mercato. The Lions are keen to secure the services of the 26-year-old Englishman, who has been a free agent since leaving Old Trafford in early July.
The proposal from the Qatari side could significantly influence the trajectory of Sancho’s career, as he is also reportedly linked with a return to his former club, Borussia Dortmund. The English forward spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Aston Villa, where he featured in 39 matches under manager Unai Emery.
During his tenure at Villa Park, Sancho started 18 of those 39 games. His contribution on the pitch was limited, as he proved decisive on only four occasions, recording one goal and three assists across all competitions.
Sancho’s career trajectory has seen considerable fluctuation since he was signed by Manchester United for €85m in the summer of 2021. Over his time at the club, he made 81 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists, but never fully established himself as a regular starter in the first team.
It remains unclear whether Sancho has formally accepted the offer from Al-Rayyan or if negotiations are still ongoing. The status of the reported interest from Borussia Dortmund is also unconfirmed.
