Adobe acquires AI workflow startup Rilo to expand agentic marketing tools
The acquisition gives Adobe access to technology that interprets plain-English instructions and executes multi-step marketing workflows, though financial terms and an integration timeline were not disclosed.

Adobe has acquired India-based AI workflow automation startup Rilo as it expands its focus on agentic artificial intelligence, marketing intelligence and workflow automation.
The transaction involves licensing Rilo’s technology and adding its team to Adobe. Rilo has developed AI agents designed to interpret plain-English instructions and execute multi-step marketing and go-to-market workflows.
Adobe could use the technology across its marketing products for applications including competitor intelligence, sales-call analysis, workflow execution and content distribution. The intended expansion would take Adobe’s AI strategy beyond content generation towards systems that can perform tasks for marketers.
The acquisition comes just over four months after Adobe reportedly completed its approximately US$1.9 billion purchase of Semrush, signalling a broader effort to build marketing intelligence and automation capabilities.
The move adds to Adobe’s competition with Google, Meta and Amazon, as well as established marketing-software providers and AI-native companies. However, the source material does not disclose the deal’s financial terms, completion date, legal structure or when Rilo’s capabilities will be integrated.
For investors, the acquisition’s significance will depend on Adobe’s ability to integrate the technology and turn it into paid products. The company continues to face questions over annual recurring revenue growth, AI monetisation, competition and the future of its creative-software business.
