Rams coach Sean McVay has backed Aaron Donald’s plan to return from retirement in Monday Night Football’s Week 2 clash with the New York Giants.
Aaron Donald is expected to return for the Los Angeles Rams’ Week 2 game against the New York Giants, following confirmation from coach Sean McVay.
“If he said it, he’s going,” McVay said on Saturday, according to CBS Sports, supporting Donald’s statement that he planned to play in the fixture.
Donald retired after the 2023 season following a Hall-of-Fame career. He did not play in the Rams’ Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
The defensive lineman reportedly re-signed with the Rams on a one-year deal worth US$20 million, with incentives that could take its value to US$30 million.
His return will come without the anticipated pairing with Myles Garrett, who is on injured reserve after knee surgery. Donald’s official activation and expected workload have not been confirmed.
