Yahoo Sports opens poll for TSSAA boys athlete of the week in Murfreesboro
Six student-athletes from Central Magnet, Eagleville, Riverdale and Siegel are in contention for the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association award.

Yahoo Sports has launched a public poll to determine the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) boys athlete of the week for the Murfreesboro area. The voting window covers the period from May 11 to 17, inviting readers to select the standout performer from a shortlist of six nominees.
The nominees represent four local high schools within the TSSAA jurisdiction. Central Magnet is represented by Evan Laroy and Carson Phillips. Eagleville has nominated Carter Blair, while Riverdale’s entry is Colson Underwood. Siegel is put forward by two candidates, Colton Baron and Zack Arradi.
The TSSAA serves as the governing body for high school sports across Tennessee, overseeing competitions and standards for member schools. The Murfreesboro area poll is part of a broader initiative to highlight individual achievements within the state’s secondary school athletic framework.
In a statement accompanying the launch, the publisher outlined strict protocols to maintain the integrity of the selection process. An editor’s note specified that the organisation reserves the right to disqualify any candidate or declare a vote a no contest if evidence of tampering is detected.
The publisher explicitly warned against bot activity or any attempts to pay for votes. The statement emphasised that voters should respect the integrity of the poll in the same manner that the nominated athletes respect the integrity of their respective games.
As the poll is currently open, the final winner has not yet been determined. The outcome will depend entirely on the volume and validity of votes received during the designated week.
