Yahoo Sports invites public rating of Mexico and Czech Republic World Cup players
The sports platform is soliciting user-generated scores for squad members from both nations, with aggregated results scheduled for release shortly after the final whistle.

Yahoo Sports has launched an interactive engagement feature inviting readers to rate the performance of players from Mexico and the Czech Republic during their ongoing World Cup fixture. The platform is currently accepting user submissions on a scale of one to ten for squad members from both national teams.
The publication has confirmed that the match is underway and that final, aggregated player ratings will be published 30 minutes after full-time. This initiative allows the outlet’s audience to contribute to the post-match narrative through direct performance assessment, rather than relying solely on editorial analysis.
This fixture forms part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a tournament co-hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The event represents a significant expansion of the global competition, with matches taking place across multiple venues in the three host nations.
Mexico began the 2026 tournament with a 2-0 victory over South Africa at the Estadio Azteca. Julian Quinones scored the first goal of the competition in the ninth minute, followed by a second from Raul Jimenez in the 67th minute. The opening match also saw disciplinary action, with South Africa finishing with nine men after Sphephelo Sithole and Themba Zwane were sent off, while Mexico’s Cesar Montes received a red card.
The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to conclude on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The final will feature a historic half-time show curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, marking the first time such a performance has been included in FIFA World Cup history.
