Yahoo Sports flags two quarterbacks for Week 2 college fantasy waiver claims

Yahoo Sports has identified Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Heintschel and Nebraska quarterback Anthony Colandrea as leading waiver-wire targets for Week 2 of the 2026 college fantasy football season.
Heintschel is listed as rostered in 9 per cent of leagues after recording 453 passing yards, seven touchdowns and 48.42 fantasy points in Pittsburgh’s 59–14 win over Miami (Ohio). He completed 31 of 41 passes, added 23 rushing yards and avoided turnovers.
Eric Froton describes Heintschel as an immediate weekly QB1/2 candidate. The sophomore had previously shown upside as a freshman, including four games with more than 300 passing yards. Froton also points to Pittsburgh’s passing volume and the spread of touchdown catches among seven receivers as indicators of potential offensive production.
Colandrea is listed at 6 per cent rostered after guiding Nebraska to a 49–21 win over Ohio. He threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns, ran for another score, and directed an offence that produced 523 total yards and 35 second-half points.
Froton says Colandrea’s established rushing threat could support sustained fantasy value. He ran for 621 yards and nine touchdowns at UNLV last season after recording more than 500 rushing yards across two years at Virginia.
