WWE has officially released the full match card for Backlash 2026, an event scheduled to take place on a Saturday night in Tampa. The promotion confirmed that the card will consist of five matches, with the main event pitting World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns against Jacob Fatu. This bout marks a significant moment as Fatu, who recently defeated Drew McIntyre, challenges his cousin for the world title in a match that has never been contested before in WWE history.
The card also includes a United States Championship rematch between Trick Williams and Sami Zayn. This contest is set to resolve a feud that stems from a previous encounter where Williams' mascot was torn to shreds during a match. Additionally, the event will feature a singles bout between Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker, a rivalry that has intensified following Breakker's interference in Rollins' match with Gunther at WrestleMania.
Further down the card, Iyo Sky is set to face Asuka in a match that continues a long-standing rivalry dating back to their time in the Triple Tails faction. The booking notes that this contest follows a recent incident where Asuka cost Sky a women's intercontinental match on Raw. The final confirmed bout is a tag team match where The Miz and Kit Wilson will challenge Danhausen and a partner yet to be determined.
The inclusion of the tag team match was authorised by SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis, who made the booking conditional on Danhausen securing a partner. Miz and Wilson have been feuding with Danhausen for months, involving backstage disrespect and a recent beatdown of the latter by the former pair. While the match is confirmed, the specific identity of Danhausen's partner remains listed as TBD in the official announcement.
The entire event will stream live on ESPN Unlimited. CBS Sports reported the confirmation of the lineup, noting that Backlash typically serves as the first Premium Live Event following WrestleMania, providing a venue for rivalries that were not fully concluded at the previous major show. The main card is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET.
